Location review: 51 Vape

Happy Friday everyone today I will review a local location in the Albany New York area called 5 1 Vape LLC. How I stumbled across this shop since it is quite a distance from me is I was in search of my kryptonite as I call it, the one and only Unicorn Blood by Fuzion Vapor. I was having a very difficult time locating this brand at  B&m and through the pattended Fuzion finder (don’t know if it is buts sounds good) link on Fuzions Web site I found this shop which in my opinion shows the true meaning of being by vapers for vapers.

51 as of tomorrow will have four shops so a big congratulations goes out to them on their new location. I visited the Schenectady location and inside are all the typical elements of a good shop. They have an excellent selection of hardware and juice, a pool table, tasting available, soda machine, and places to sit and hang out. The hardware in glass display cases was up to date and all the new popular mods and tanks. Not only do they carry the fore mentioned Fuzion line but also carry many top brands of ejuice from Cuttwood to the new Naked line I have yet to try out but hear good things. They offer hats, stickers, and shirts with their logo which is simple yet eye catching.

OK now here is what sets them apart. They do carry their own ejuice brand which is not made by some dude in a back room at the shop which I see all to often. I was told it is made by a company out of the D. C. area and yes just because it is made by another company still means that it is 51’s house brand and not just labeled and sold that way. A lot of companies do this because it insures quality, the flavor profiles are unique to 51.I tried several of their house juices and my favorite was the Crouching Tiger. The next best thing about them is they have multiple locations but are not a franchise or corporate chain, I absolutely hate corporate stores because nothing makes them any different than a McDonald’s or Burger King and I’ll explain a little more in a minute. The people there are exceptional! THE PEOPLE THERE ARE EXCEPTIONAL! Yes I know I said it twice but this visit was one of the best shop visits I have had in quite a while, I have walked into places where no one wants to help or talk to you and in my opinion if that’s the case don’t even bother staying open. When I go or anyone goes to a shop it is for the experience. I don’t want to feel out of place or like I am a bother and 51 has the best staff I have talked with I  a long time. Friendly, inviting, and knowledgeable are just  few words to describe them.

I had a chance to speak with the owners wife or co-owner because let’s face it when your married what’s mine is hers and what’s hers is hers (pause for laughs) and she gave me the back story that is truly unique. Her husband started selling out of his truck at all hours of the day and night, then they opened their home as a small shop allowing people to come browse in their basement, from there took all of their savings and opened up their first shop and the rest is history. I don’t think you will find anywhere else built on that kind of passion or dedication and that’s what makes them by vapers and for vapers and truly special. It is a big risk especially with a family to take that leap and I myself have always wanted to own my own shop but to scared to chance it. These people are truly an inspiration! A more detailed story is on their website at http://www.51vapellc.com and you can also purchase juice there as well and have it shipped to your door. Find them on Facebook, Instagram, and snap chat as well. These are the type of places vapers need to support. You will never find this at a chain location.
So if you are in the Albany, NY area stop by, I know I will!

For now this is where I leave you, vape on and continue the climb to being smoke free!

In Discussion:The Cost Of Juice

A constant cost of vaping is having enough juice to do the job. There are thousands of juice companies that can be found online and most vape shops offer a wide array of different options. In my experience I have found that allot of the mainstream brands are good but really when it comes down to it are not made any different than any other juice out there. This topic is sparked by a post I found on Google + with someone asking if $30.00 U.S. was to much to pay for a mainstream manufacturer’s 30ml bottle of juice? There were many comments on this most saying absolutely! Now if cost is no problem for you and it’s a juice you really like than by all means go ahead and make the purchase. This can be a common mistake for new vapers or people who are not in tune to the community. I have seen many times that someone will pay far to much for juice and claim how it was a great deal, I have been guilty of this myself.

Here are some tips on buying juice. I am not an avid buyer of juice online unless I have tried it before so take caution with first time online purchases because what you expect may not be what you get. With that said if you are looking for something new and have a good supply of your all day vape then I encourage you to read reviews and look at pricing from websites where others have purchased. If you want to do this look for sample packs, most samplers are inex

pensive and are usually 5 or 10ml bottles so if your not a fan of that flavor you can vape it forward or simply toss it. Also samplers are a good way to discover new flavors and types that you have yet to try, who knows if you have never tried a tobacco flavor it may end up being a match made in heaven. Looking around there are a few subscription based companies out there, I have not personally tried any but have heard good things, it may be worth getting into. Basically how it works you pick a package size and flavor profiles you like then wait, monthly you will have a package at your door with new juices to try, this will save you time and leg work when hunting down that perfect nectar of the god’s and many packages I hear come with extra goodies like vape rings, stickers, etc. Now we get to the old fashioned way, a guy walks into a vape shop…… Vape shops can be great wealths of knowledge for everything. As far as juice goes most shops offer a store brand which is greatly cheaper than top shelf and most of the time shop brand can come pretty close to the top shelf stuff as far as flavor. Also they offer deals on shop brand before top shelf almost always. Some shops mix right there so customization is always a possibility and if you walk in and say i’m looking for something that tastes like example they can most likely come pretty close. Lastly is the cheapest of them all and I won’t discuss it much but you can always make your own. This method is more time consuming and has a greater upfront cost but in the long run you get what you want and save MONEY!!!!!

Thats it for now, I hope to see some comments on this with your opinions or something I left out, vape on and continue the climb on being smoke free!!

Today in the garage….. WTF?

Okay folks I’m a little pissed, not sure if I should be but for right now I am. As you can see from the screen shot some jackals asked in one of the vaping communities if you need a license to make and sell “vape juice”, WTF? This person is not a vaper nor ever has been what business do they have trying to make a profit from juice and has the balls to ask vapers this kind of a question. All I have to say is you sir are a DICK!

Now that that’s out of the way, my response to him was simple, vaping is a community and yes there is money to be made but at the end of the day it’s a vapers products that contribute to the community for the greater good. These juices and devices are life saving and I don’t feel that outsiders should really capitalize upon that not to mention it doesn’t even appeal to him why bother.

Thanks guys just had to get that off my chest, vape on and continue the climb on being smoke free!
